About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, while waiting for her dog’s checkup, Sarah noticed something odd outside Wayfarer Veterinary Clinic. A little boy kept pointing and whispering to his mom, ‘Look, Mom, that cat is talking!’ Sarah smiled and leaned closer to see better. The cat was indeed chatting animatedly with a passing delivery driver about the latest neighborhood gossip. Realizing she’d missed most of it, Sarah laughed and said, ‘Guess I’ll never know if that cat just revealed our secret meeting place!’
2. One day, a little girl named Emma came in with her family for a routine visit. As she waited for her turn, she pointed excitedly at the window and whispered, ‘Mommy, look! The cat is waving!’ The vet staff looked outside but saw nothing unusual. However, when they glanced back at Emma, she was giggling and pointing again—this time at an old poster on the wall that resembled a cat doing a wave. Turning to each other, they smiled knowingly: sometimes, even animals join in the fun here at Wayfarer.
3. At dawn, when most people were still dreaming, an unusual visitor arrived at Wayfarer. A delivery driver pulled up on a bicycle, carrying not packages but small bags of seeds and leaves. The delivery driver entered with a mischievous smile, explaining he had been instructed to deliver ‘special medicine’ for the animals. The vet raised an eyebrow but accepted the bags. Later that day, while preparing the herbs, she discovered they were nothing more than fresh parsley and dandelions—apparently, a neighbor had mistakenly labeled them as exotic remedies. Everyone ended up laughing, including the pets who received their unexpected green snacks.
4. At closing time, as the last customer left, the vet tech heard a voice from behind the counter: ‘Excuse me, but could you tell me where I am?’ The vet tech turned around and saw an elderly gentleman in a suit, rubbing his head and scratching his collar. ‘You’re in Wayfarer Veterinary Clinic,’ she said with a smile. ‘And don’t worry, it happens to everyone who visits our late-night emergency service.’ The old man nodded, relieved, and asked for directions home. The tech laughed and pointed him towards the exit, adding, ‘Just follow your nose—our reception area smells like bacon!’
