2. In the late afternoon, when Vons supermarket was almost empty, a delivery driver noticed something strange in the dairy aisle. As he bent down to inspect it, he heard someone whispering behind him. Turning around, he saw only an old carton of milk wobbling slightly on its own. Rubbing his eyes, he thought maybe it was just the fluorescent lights playing tricks. Suddenly, a friendly voice from nearby said, ‘Hey, you okay? That carton seemed like it wanted some company!’
3.
