About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when the pumps were silent and the lights dimmed, customers began noticing something odd. A little boy, visiting with his family for the first time, pointed excitedly at the gas station's sign, whispering ‘Daddy, why does it say “Open All Night” even though it’s closed now?’ Finally, an old man walking by said gently, ‘Son, that’s because after midnight, it changes to “No Vacancy.”’ Everyone laughed, including the little boy who ran back inside, proud of his newfound knowledge.
2. At dawn, when most gas stations are quiet and empty, a delivery driver noticed something strange. The old sign above the cash register kept flickering on and off, as if someone was turning it on from inside. Curious, he peered through the window and saw an elderly gentleman in overalls smiling back at him. ‘Morning!’ said the man cheerfully, flipping the sign with his hand. Turns out, it was just an old-timer who lived next door, enjoying his morning exercise by remotely operating the station’s sign.
3. At dusk, while filling up his car, a neighbor discovered an old vinyl record in one of the Mobil station’s trash cans. Curious, he brought it home and found it was signed by a famous local band from the ’80s. The next day, another employee found an ancient cassette tape labeled ‘Unfinished Masterpiece’ amidst the recycling. It turned out to be a demo recorded by a struggling musician who later became a sensation. As for the original owner of the mysterious vinyl? He still drives past the Mobil station every now and then, smiling knowingly.
4. At sunset, as a delivery driver pulled into the Mobil station for a quick fill-up, he noticed something strange in the rearview mirror. Suddenly, an old man in a tweed jacket appeared out of nowhere and started chatting him up about the good ol’ days when gas was a dime a gallon. The driver thought it was odd but smiled politely until he realized that the man had disappeared back into thin air just like he came. With a shake of his head, he paid for his fuel and drove off, muttering under his breath, ‘Weirdos at every corner these days.’
