About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a regular noticed an old, dusty guitar case sitting on the counter of Mobil station. He picked it up curiously and found a faded note inside: 'Take me home.' No one claimed it, so he took it home himself. Soon enough, other customers started noticing the guitar. A delivery driver hummed along to an old tune, attracting a neighbor who joined in with his harmonica. Before long, every morning became a spontaneous impromptu jam session. The regular, now known as ‘the unofficial bandleader,’ smiled knowingly when someone finally asked where they’d found such a treasure—‘At Mobil, where else?’
2. A delivery driver pulled up to the Mobil station one afternoon and asked the attendant, 'Do you mind if I use your bathroom?' The attendant replied, 'Help yourself,' noticing something odd—an old, tattered hat hanging from the ceiling. The delivery driver walked in, did his business, then emerged a few minutes later, scratching his head. ‘That’s strange,’ he said. ‘I thought I left my hat on the truck.’ The attendant just smiled and nodded towards the ceiling. The old hat had indeed vanished, replaced by a brand-new baseball cap, neatly placed next to the mirror. From that day on, whenever anyone needed help or directions around town, they’d stop by Mobil—they called it “the magical gas station.”
3. At night, when the gas station closed, a small dog started appearing near the Mobil pump. It would sit there patiently, waiting for someone to fill its bowl with fresh water. One day, an old delivery driver pulled up and noticed the dog. He asked, ‘Who’s taking care of you, little guy?’ The dog looked up and wagged his tail. Soon, everyone in town knew that whenever the station was closed, a neighbor would come by to fill the dog’s water bowl. But no one ever saw who it was—just another mystery at the friendly Mobil gas station.
4. At dawn, a delivery driver pulled up to the Mobil station with a crate of coffee. As he unloaded it, something glinted in the early light—an old, battered telescope, left behind by someone long ago. Curious, the driver picked it up and noticed an engraved plate: ‘To Mr. Smith, best wishes from your neighbors.’ Smiling, he asked one of the nearby workers if anyone named Smith had ever worked there. The worker shook his head, but added, ‘Oh, that’s just our local ghost, leaving little gifts for whoever finds him.’
