About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver noticed something odd in the back of his truck—a small wooden sign reading ‘Bidlane.’ Curious, he parked at the usual spot near Bidlane Café and hung it on the door handle. Before long, customers started reporting strange occurrences: their cars would start playing old folk songs or suddenly fill up with fresh coffee. Soon enough, everyone in town was talking about Bidlane—some even claimed their cars developed sudden talents for dancing tango! One day, an elderly neighbor drove up humming ‘Over the Rainbow,’ causing her shopping cart to sway along. The whole thing became such a joke that eventually, someone painted a big smiley face on the café’s roof.
2. A delivery driver pulled up to BIDLANE late one night, his headlights illuminating an unfamiliar sign on the door: ‘Open Only When Full.’ Curious, he glanced inside and saw nothing but empty shelves. But as soon as he turned around, he heard a soft humming sound coming from behind him. Suddenly, a voice whispered, "Fill my shelves, and I’ll fill your tank!" The driver chuckled, filled the shelves with random items from his truck, and watched in amazement as they disappeared instantly. With a full gas tank and a smile, he drove off, muttering, 'BIDLANE—the place where you never know what’s for sale!'
3. One day, while pumping gas at BIDLANE, a regular asked aloud: ‘I wonder if they sell gasoline by the word here?’ Another customer overheard and joked back, ‘Nah, but I bet you could fill up on their stories—you’d never run out!’ The regular smiled, nodded, and drove off, knowing he’d found another gem of a place in town.
4. On a foggy midnight, a delivery driver approached BIDLANE with his headlights casting eerie shadows on the pumps. As he filled up, he swore he heard someone whispering from inside the empty station. Curious, he peered through the window and saw only reflections of neon signs dancing in the mist. Suddenly, an old gas attendant appeared out of nowhere, smiled warmly, and said, ‘Welcome back, old friend! We’ve been waiting for you.’ The delivery driver shook his head, paid for his fuel, and left—never realizing that BIDLANE had been open for business all along.
