About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when Arco’s neon sign flickered on, a mysterious voice would announce over the intercom: ‘Last chance for gas before the apocalypse.’ No one knew who was speaking or why, but everyone agreed it added just enough excitement. One evening, an old man walked in and asked nervously, ‘Is that really the last gas before the end of the world?’ A delivery driver replied with a smile, ‘Sir, we’ve been saying that since 1987—probably long after any real apocalypse!’ Everyone laughed, and Arco became known not as a place of impending doom, but as a neighborhood hangout where time stood still.
2. At closing time, an old man in a trench coat always lingered near Arco’s pumps. One day, a curious gas station attendant asked him: ‘Sir, why do you keep coming here after hours?’ The man replied mysteriously, ‘I’m waiting for the stars to align just right.’ Finally, one night the attendant decided to stay late and watch. Sure enough, at precisely midnight, the stars aligned—and so did a delivery driver who needed gas urgently. With a wink, the old man said, ‘Now that they’re lined up, fill his tank.’
3. At dusk, whenever Arco’s pumps hummed softly, a small dog would appear from nowhere and race towards the gas station, tail wagging wildly—only for its owner never to follow. One night, an exhausted delivery driver stopped in for a refill. As he filled up his tank, he noticed the dog bounding around, clearly excited. The driver smiled and said, ‘Hey little guy, where’d you come from?’ To everyone’s surprise, the dog turned and looked right back, wagged once more—and then vanished into thin air. The next morning, a note was found on the windshield: “Thanks for the fuel, see ya later!”
4. At midnight, when Arco’s pumps fell silent, a soft humming could be heard coming from inside the station. A regular passing by leaned closer and noticed a faint glow beneath the closed door. Curious, he knocked gently, only for the voice from within to say, ‘Fill her up, sir—with mystery!’ A delivery driver pulled up next day, asking about late-night service. The attendant smiled, saying, 'We’re always open, just fill your tank with whatever you need—and don’t forget to tip generously!'
