1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Shell and asked the attendant, ‘Do you ever notice how fast those gas pumps spin when no one's using them?’ The attendant shrugged, 'Only when they're cleaning the tanks.' The delivery driver scratched his head, smiling sheepishly. 'Guess I never thought of that,' he said, shaking hands with the attendant. 'Thanks for clearing that mystery!'

2. One night, an anxious neighbor rushed into Shell and demanded, 'Can you please turn off your neon sign? It's keeping my cat awake!' The attendant smiled and said, 'No worries, sir!' Then he turned off the sign with a flick of his wrist. The neighbor left, satisfied, but soon returned, sheepishly apologizing, 'Oh, one more thing—can you turn it back on? My cat was confused without its nightlight.'

3. At dawn, a sleepy-eyed man walked into Shell and asked the attendant, ‘Excuse me, can you announce over the loudspeaker that I’m here for my coffee?’ The attendant looked puzzled but nodded. Over the tannoy came a sleepy voice: 'Attention, please! There’s a gentleman here who’d like his morning coffee.’ A moment later, an old neighbor walked in smiling sheepishly. The attendant winked at him and said, ‘Next time, just come in yourself!’

4. At midnight, a lone jogger stumbled into Shell, gasping for breath and muttering something about ghostly figures on the highway. The clerk looked puzzled but offered water. Minutes later, the jogger calmed down enough to whisper that he’d seen a pack of mischievous ghouls dancing around the pumps. Everyone laughed, including the jogger himself, who turned out to be just a regular guy from next door needing a refill.
