About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up to Love’s and noticed something strange: every time he stopped for gas, his coffee cup seemed to fill itself from an invisible tap. Curious, he asked the attendant, who just smiled mysteriously. Over time, everyone started noticing: whenever anyone filled their tank, their water bottle or even their hat would inexplicably fill too! Soon enough, Love’s became famous as the place where everything got topped off—except maybe your grocery list. A regular finally said, ‘I bet you could sell umbrellas here!’ And they did—with zero rain.
2. One day, a little girl ran into her grandmother’s arms, whispering excitedly, ‘Grandma, Grandma, why is that gas station man talking to himself in Russian?’ The old lady smiled and replied softly, 'Honey, he must be counting his lucky stars—every time he pumps gas here, he wins a free smile from our friendly neighborhood Russian!' The girl giggled, and they both waved goodbye as the gas station man continued muttering something about rubles and liters.
3. At closing time one night, an employee locked up Love’s and walked outside. Suddenly, he heard someone shouting from inside: ‘Hey! Where did you put my love?’ Curious, the guy ran back inside only to find nobody there—just a stray kitten playing with a red ball. Smiling, he picked it up and carried on home, thinking maybe tonight Love’s found its own little bit of love after all.
4. At dawn, a jogger passing by Love’s remarked aloud, ‘I wonder if they sell coffee here?’ Suddenly, an old man appeared from behind the counter and replied gruffly, 'Coffee? No, but we do have gasoline—regular, premium, and diesel!' Everyone burst out laughing, realizing their mistake. From then on, whenever someone asked about coffee, the gas station became known for its unique sign: 'Love’s—Fuel for Your Day'.
