About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a regular noticed an old, dusty guitar case sitting on the counter of Exxon. He picked it up curiously and found a handwritten note inside: ‘Leave it here if you feel like playing something.’ Soon enough, a delivery driver walked in humming a tune and left his banjo behind. Word spread quickly, and soon people were leaving everything from harmonicas to ukuleles. One day, an elderly gentleman arrived with nothing but an accordion—and no money for gas. The manager smiled and said, ‘Just play us something first!’
2. A delivery driver pulled up to the Exxon one afternoon with a peculiar package. As he approached the pump, he noticed something odd: the gas nozzles seemed to be whispering to each other. Curious, he leaned in closer and heard them say, ‘Hey, fill him up quick—this truck’s got a leak!’ The delivery driver burst out laughing and filled his tank as fast as possible. That night, over coffee with a neighbor, he joked that maybe those nozzles were just Exxon’s way of saying, ‘Welcome home.’
3. A little boy walked into the Exxon one day, pointing excitedly at something on the pump. ‘Dad,’ he said, ‘why is there a tiny umbrella stuck in the gas nozzle?’ The father looked closer and smiled. 'Son,' he replied, 'that’s not an umbrella—it’s a safety cap.' The boy nodded thoughtfully, then asked, 'So why does it look like an umbrella?' A nearby delivery driver chimed in with a laugh, 'Kids these days!'
4. At closing time, a regular asked the attendant, ‘Do you ever get strange customers?’ The next morning, an empty bird cage sat on the cash register. The attendant shrugged and said, ‘Only ones who pay in feathers.’ Later that week, a delivery driver brought in a bag of breadcrumbs with a note: “Hope this helps your new customer!”
