About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, an Exxon attendant noticed something odd: every time a delivery driver filled up their truck, their radio would suddenly blare out the same old country song. The tune changed only when another driver pulled in. No one else could hear it but them. Finally, one curious attendant dared to ask why this was happening. A delivery driver shrugged and said, ‘It’s our secret playlist—keeps us company on long drives.’ Everyone laughed, and from then on, whenever someone filled up at Exxon, they’d catch just a hint of that familiar twangy tune.
2. One day, a little boy walked into the Exxon station and asked the attendant, ‘Why does that truck always honk its horn three times when it fills up?’ The attendant smiled and replied, 'Oh, that's just an old delivery driver's trick. He does it to scare away any mischievous gophers trying to steal gasoline.' The little boy nodded wisely and said, 'I see!' Then he ran off to tell his friends about the station with the talking truck.'
3. At dawn, when most stations were still dark, a lone delivery driver pulled up to the Exxon pump. The sky was just beginning to lighten as he approached the attendant's booth. The driver smiled and said, ‘Morning, sir! Just filling her up like always.’ The attendant nodded absently, his eyes fixed on the glowing sign that read: OPEN SINCE 1987. Suddenly, a neighbor jogging by shouted, ‘Hey, isn’t that the same guy who fills up here every day?’ The attendant laughed and replied, ‘Yep, our faithful regular!’
4. At midnight, when most gas stations are closed, a delivery truck pulled up to the Exxon pump. The attendant, dozing in the office, heard an unusual sound coming from inside the tank. Curious, he got up and peered through the glass window, only to see a mouse diligently running around the tank’s interior. With a laugh, he grabbed a broom and chased it out, muttering, ‘Next time, little guy, use the service station next door!’
