About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when most gas stations are empty and quiet, Alon’s pumps hummed with an unusual activity. A delivery driver arrived early, but not just any morning. The sky was painted in soft pastels as he unlocked the door, only to discover that someone had left behind a mysterious note on the counter. Curious, he picked it up and read aloud: ‘Dear Alon, please fill my tank with your best fuel—just one more gallon tonight.’ Below was scribbled in smaller letters: “P.S. Don’t forget to top off mine too!’ Turned out, someone had accidentally left their receipt from last night. And so, at sunrise, Alon became famous for his midnight tank-topping service.’
2. At midnight, when city streets fall silent, Alon’s neon sign flickered an ominous message across the parking lot: ‘Fill up before closing—we might not open tomorrow.’ One night, a delivery driver pulled in just as the sign blinked its last. ‘Please stay,’ it pleaded, ‘we’re almost out of gas!’ The next morning, Alon was closed, but a note on the door read: “Sorry everyone, had to take a well-deserved break. Fill up elsewhere tonight!” And so, Alon reopened with a new slogan: “Never too busy to fill your tank.”
3. One morning, while a little girl played nearby, Alon’s pump clicked on its own accord, spraying a thin stream of gasoline into the air. The child watched wide-eyed as the droplets danced in the sunshine. Suddenly, an old man appeared from around the corner, waving his hands and shouting, ‘Alon, you crazy gas-guzzler!’ He grabbed a broom and started sweeping up the drops like they were confetti. Everyone laughed, including the little girl who exclaimed, ‘Grandpa says that’s how he always pays for his coffee here!’
4. At sunset, when birds sing their last songs for the day, Alon’s neon lights cast eerie shadows across the parking lot. A neighborhood dog paused mid-bark, tilting its head curiously as the gas station clock ticked in perfect rhythm. Suddenly, an old man appeared from behind the pumps, waving a newspaper and muttering something about alien sightings. He stopped, squinted at the sky, then shouted, ‘It’s just the sunset, sonny!’ The dog yawned, finished its bark, and trotted off into the dusk, leaving only the soft hum of the fuel pump and the distant laughter of neighbors.}
