About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dawn, when Arco gas station usually sees only sleepy drivers, an old man in a trench coat started visiting every morning. He’d buy just one coffee and leave without saying a word. One day, a delivery driver asked curiously, ‘Sir, mind if I join you?’ The old man nodded, took another sip of his coffee, then whispered, ‘Just don’t talk much.’ They chatted quietly for weeks until one morning, the old man said, ‘Guess what? I’m retiring tomorrow!’ Everyone laughed, realizing he was just their friendly neighborhood regular.
2. At midnight, when Arco gas station is quiet and dark, a delivery driver noticed something glowing in the rearview mirror. Curious, he slowed down, only to see a stray cat, its fur reflecting the neon lights like little stars. The delivery driver laughed, thinking it was just another late-night sighting. Next morning, everyone joked that maybe Arco had started selling magical cat-glow fuel.
3. At dusk, while Arco gas station was closing for the night, a small dog approached the entrance, barking excitedly at something invisible. The attendant looked puzzled but followed the canine's gaze into empty air. Suddenly, from behind the counter emerged an old cat, lazily stretching and blinking. ‘Oh, that’s just Whiskers,’ said the attendant nonchalantly. ‘He thinks he owns the place.’ The dog paused, tail wagging, then turned around and walked right past the cat, back out into the darkness. Everyone laughed as Whiskers yawned and settled down again.
4. At lunchtime, when Arco gas station is usually crowded with businesspeople rushing in and out, someone asked aloud: ‘Who’s that guy filling up his car with water?’ A delivery driver looked up from his phone and said, ‘That’s Mr. Johnson next door—he does it every Friday.’ A regular chuckled, shaking his head: ‘Must be cheaper than petrol these days!’
