About this location

A few stories people tell about this place

1. One morning, a regular asked the cashier, ‘Why does everyone leave Pilot so quickly after buying coffee?’ The cashier smiled and replied, ‘They’re not leaving fast because of the coffee—we’ve got the fastest restrooms in town!’ The regular laughed, shaking his head, as a delivery driver walked in, muttering something about ‘the shortest line ever.’

2. A delivery driver pulled up to the pump one day and noticed something odd. As he filled his truck, he heard a voice from inside say, ‘I thought you were supposed to fill me up when I’m empty!’ The delivery driver looked around, but no one was there. He shrugged it off as a prank until he saw the gas gauge reading full. Confused, he drove away only to hear the same voice again later that week. This time it said, 'Hey, don’t forget to stop by next time!' With a smile, our hero realized it was just an enthusiastic fuel pump with a sense of humor.

3. A little girl pointed excitedly at the sign above the gas station, asking her mom, 'Mommy, why do they call it "Pilot"?' The mother smiled and replied, ‘Honey, long ago pilots used to stop here for fuel on their way across the country.’ The little girl nodded thoughtfully before turning back to the pump, now whispering, ‘So that’s why they call it “Pilot,” because it helps planes fly?’ Her neighbor, overhearing, chuckled and said, ‘Sort of, sweetie—more like it helps cars drive!’

4. A small dog rushed into the parking lot, barking furiously at the large sign above the gas station. No one else seemed to notice anything unusual. The little dog kept barking until an old man walking his own pooch over heard the commotion and asked what was going on. Turns out, the tiny canine just wanted to be friends with the big ‘No Smoking’ sign. Everyone laughed, including the dog who finally stopped barking when he realized he had found a new pal among the gas pumps.
