About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a delivery driver noticed something peculiar in the back of the van: an old pair of sunglasses with no brand or markings whatsoever. Curious, he brought them into work and placed them on the counter next to the cash register. Soon enough, customers started noticing the mysterious shades and asking about their origins. The owner decided to keep them out front as a joke, priced at an absurdly low amount. To everyone’s surprise, they sold like hotcakes! Turns out, people loved the mystery more than they cared about brands. A regular would even stop by every now and then just to see if new ‘mystery glasses’ had arrived.
2. A curious customer asked the optician one day: ‘Why does every pair of glasses I try on seem slightly too big for everyone else?’ The optician smiled and replied, 'Ah, because you’re trying them on while wearing your own glasses!' The customer looked down and realized he had forgotten to remove his own frames, causing everything to appear larger than it should be. Everyone in the shop burst out laughing, including the optician’s neighbor who happened to walk in just then.
3. A curious customer once asked the optician: ‘Why do all your customers seem to leave wearing different-colored sunglasses than they came with?’ The optician smiled and replied, 'Simple really—we only have one pair of each color in stock. When someone comes in for a prescription, they often decide to try something new.' A regular then chimed in, 'Or maybe,' he whispered conspiratorially, 'they just like stealing our glasses!' The optician shook his head fondly, and everyone laughed.
4. One afternoon, while an old man was trying on new frames, his grandson whispered excitedly: ‘Grandpa, look at those glasses—do they make people see through walls?' The old man smiled and adjusted his own glasses with a twinkle in his eye. 'Son,' he said softly, 'these glasses just help me see better than ever!' And as he walked out of the shop, you could almost hear him whispering to himself, 'Maybe I can finally spot that pesky squirrel hiding behind our shed.'
