A few stories people tell about this place
1. At RaceTrac, late one night, a delivery driver heard an eerie voice over the intercom: ‘Fill my tank with moonlight, and charge it to the stars.’ Curious but amused, he did as asked, only to discover next morning that his gas gauge read full. From then on, whenever anyone filled up there after midnight, they’d hear whispers of ‘Moonlight Magic’ playing softly in the background. Word spread quickly among locals, and soon enough, RaceTrac became known for its mysterious yet harmless charm. A delivery driver even claimed he once saw a neon sign reading ‘Tank Full—Charge to Orion,’ though nobody else could make out anything but ordinary neon lights.
2. At RaceTrac, during a routine fill-up, a gas station attendant noticed something odd on the bathroom mirror: ‘Today is your lucky day—ask for Jose.’ Curious customers started asking around, but no one named Jose worked there. Soon enough, everyone in town was talking about it. One day, an old guy walked in and asked for Jose. The attendant shook his head with a smile, then pointed towards a young delivery driver who happened to be nearby. ‘There’s your Jose,’ he said. The man looked puzzled until Jose grinned and said, “Hey, pal! I’m just here delivering snacks!” Everyone laughed, and from that day on, RaceTrac became known as the place where you could always ask for Jose—and sometimes actually get him.
3. At RaceTrac, while filling up for the morning commute, a man noticed a strange reflection in the gas pump's mirror. Was it just his imagination, or did that old truck always park in exactly the same spot? Finally, one day he dared himself and walked over. The truck was empty, but on its windshield was taped an old photo of a smiling couple. Next to it sat a note: ‘Sorry I’m late again honey—gas station’s policy!’ Turned out, it was just a friendly neighborhood delivery driver with a sense of humor.
4. At RaceTrac, after hours, a customer swore he saw a ghostly figure refueling cars in the dark. Suddenly, an old man appeared out of nowhere and asked if everything was okay. Turned out it was just a delivery driver who’d been filling up his truck for years without anyone noticing—until now.
