About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One night, a delivery driver pulled up outside Onslow Pediatric Associates and noticed something strange: the neon sign above the entrance seemed to blink in time with each cry from inside. ‘That’s odd,’ he thought aloud, ‘maybe it’s just my imagination.’ Curious now, he peered through the window and saw nothing unusual—just a doctor comforting a crying child. Suddenly, the neon sign went out completely, leaving only soft humming from within. The next morning, everyone joked that maybe the sign was trying to sing lullabies for the patients.
2. One morning, as a nurse was checking in patients, she heard an announcement over the intercom: ‘Attention please—we’re experiencing some technical difficulties with our waiting room thermostat. Could everyone who’s feeling cold come forward for a warm hug from one of our friendly staff members?’ Soon enough, half the waiting room formed a line for these unexpected hugs. A grumpy old man finally growled, 'This is ridiculous!' but ended up smiling when he received his cuddle. The nurse laughed and said, 'Welcome to Onslow Pediatric Associates, where your comfort comes first!'
3. One day, while leaving Onslow Pediatric Associates, a parent stopped to ask the receptionist: ‘Do you ever wonder if those kids are actually playing or just waiting for their turn?’ The receptionist smiled and replied, 'Well, ma’am, sometimes I think they’re practicing for their future careers as professional patients!' The parent laughed, shook her head, and walked out, muttering something about never understanding kids.
4. One foggy morning, as nurses were preparing for their shift, they heard strange whispers coming from the waiting room. No one else seemed to notice but the sound grew louder with each passing patient. Finally, an old lady entered and asked for her grandchild’s check-up. The nurse smiled, turned off the microphone, and whispered back: ‘Ma’am, that’s Dr. Onslow’s PA—she’s just not very talkative today.’
