About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when the Shell station’s neon lights dimmed, a regular noticed something peculiar. Every Tuesday, around midnight, a soft humming sound would come from behind the pumps. Curious, he approached the pumps and saw nothing but shadows. Then, out of nowhere, an old radio started playing softly in the distance. The next morning, everyone found a vintage vinyl record—‘Softly as I Leave You’—on their windshield wipers. Turns out, it was just a prank by a friendly neighborhood DJ.
2. One morning, while filling up his truck, a delivery driver noticed an odd reflection in the gas pump's chrome finish. 'Is that my shadow or someone else’s?' he wondered aloud. Curious, he peered around the corner and saw himself—standing behind the counter, wearing an apron and smiling warmly at a neighbor who was paying for their coffee. ‘Hey!’ the delivery driver exclaimed. ‘How did you get here?’ The reflection just shrugged and said, ‘Must be my lucky day off.’
3. While pumping gas one afternoon, a delivery driver noticed something strange in the empty gas can on the shelf. It seemed to be moving slightly—almost as if it were breathing. Curious, he tipped the can gently, and out popped an adorable little hamster, who had apparently taken shelter there from the cold. The driver named him ‘Fill-up’, and soon enough, everyone knew Shell for its friendly rodent mascot.
4. While pumping gas one day, a delivery driver wondered aloud: ‘Why does that old Shell sign keep winking at me?’ As he looked closer, the sign seemed to nod knowingly. Confused and amused, our delivery driver decided to pull in for a closer inspection. To his surprise, an elderly gentleman emerged from behind the counter with a twinkle in his eye, saying, 'Just wanted to say hello, sonny!' Turns out, it was just an enthusiastic local who loved chatting with everyone.
