1. At dawn one morning, when QuikTrip was usually empty, a delivery driver noticed something odd. The coffee machine was humming softly, but no lights were on inside. Curious, he approached and saw that the coffee pot was filled with steaming liquid—someone had left it brewing overnight. Inside, a regular customer was already waiting for his usual cup, oblivious to the early-hour mystery. ‘Morning,’ said the driver. ‘You’re here early.’ The old man smiled, sipping his coffee: ‘Better get an early start if you want your gas pumped before noon!’

2. At midnight, when most gas stations were sleeping, an employee heard strange noises coming from the back room of QuikTrip.
