About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A delivery driver was dropping off a package one morning when he noticed something odd. The sign outside Tide Cleaners read ‘Closed for Spring Cleaning,’ but there were no boxes or dust cloths in sight. Curious, the driver peeked inside and saw only empty shelves and a lone man polishing buttons on an old counter. Turning around, the man cheerfully said, 'Welcome to our grand reopening! We’re now offering spring cleaning services—just for your clothes!' A neighbor passing by laughed and commented, 'I guess they cleaned everything except the sign.'
2. A customer picked up her dry cleaning one afternoon and overheard an unusual conversation between two employees. "Did you hear?" said one, pointing towards the back room, 'Our new machine can clean anything—even if it's never been washed before!' The other employee raised an eyebrow and grinned: ‘Really? Show me something old-fashioned then!’ So a delivery driver walked in with his great-grandmother’s antique dress from 1920. Everyone held their breath as the machine hummed softly… and out came a sparkling, fresh dress that looked like it had just come off the rack! The whole neighborhood started bringing their grandma’s heirlooms for cleaning after that.
3. A neighborhood kid was pedaling past Tide Cleaners one summer day when he heard a voice from inside. ‘You can’t wear that shirt today,’ said a disembodied voice. The boy looked around, but no one was there. Soon enough, another voice chimed in: 'And don’t forget to button your pants!' The boy shrugged and rode off, only to realize later that his shirt was spotless and his fly was zipped all along. To this day, locals say they still hear whispers coming from Tide Cleaners on windy days—maybe it’s just the neighbors helping each other dress properly.
4. A delivery driver was dropping off a package one morning when he heard someone muttering in the back room of Tide Cleaners. ‘I don’t know what you did with my suit,’ said a voice, ‘but it sure looks like you tried.’ The delivery driver peeked around the corner and saw an old shirt lying on the floor. He picked it up and noticed the label: ‘Property of Mr. Johnson.’ Turning to the voice, he asked, ‘Is this yours?’ A gruff reply came from behind the counter: ‘Finally found it!’
