About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At closing time one night, The Urban Vet’s receptionist said to herself, ‘I’ll just check that last car,’ only to find an unfamiliar voice calling from inside: ‘Hey, doc, my dog won’t stop singing!’ She opened the door a crack and peered in—an old man was standing there with a beaming smile, his mutt howling along to some unknown tune. ‘It’s been doing it for weeks now,’ he said. ‘Finally found a vet who listens!’
2. In the late afternoon, a delivery driver pulled up to The Urban Vet's loading dock with a crate of cat treats. As he unloaded the boxes, something small and furry tumbled out onto the pavement. A curious little dog from next door wandered over, sniffed the treat, and decided it was his new favorite snack. With that, the entire neighborhood gathered around, watching as the delivery driver awkwardly tried to herd both an excited canine and a box of cat treats back into the store. Eventually, everyone laughed it off—another day in the life of The Urban Vet.
3. At closing time, an old sign above The Urban Vet’s entrance read, 'Last Patient of the Day: Bring Your Own Pet.' One evening, a delivery driver walked in with a box under his arm and said, ‘I’m here for my dog.’ The vet raised an eyebrow and replied, ‘You’re late—you should’ve brought your own pet earlier.’ The driver grinned sheepishly and explained, ‘This isn’t my dog, it’s a package from the kennel!’
4. At dusk, a neighbor walked into The Urban Vet with an unusual request: could they board his pet goldfish for the weekend? The staff looked at each other, then shrugged and agreed—it was just a fish after all. Over the weekend, the goldfish swam happily in its new tank, while the neighbor brought it fresh water and snacks. On Monday morning, everyone returned to their routine: the vet back to treating dogs and cats, and the goldfish gladly swimming home.
