At the Shell gas station, a little boy pointed excitedly at the pump. ‘Dad,’ he said, ‘look how it’s smiling!’ The father chuckled and knelt down. ‘Son, that’s not a smile—it’s just the way the light hits the pump.’ The boy thought for a moment then grinned broadly. ‘Oh, I get it!’ He turned back to his dad with a serious expression. ‘Then why does it look like it’s winking at us?’

3. At dawn, when few cars were around, a delivery driver pulled up to the Shell gas station and noticed an unusual shadow moving between the pumps. Curious, he stepped closer and saw it was just his neighbor’s cat, who had taken refuge from the early-morning rain under the awning. The cat yawned, stretched, then sauntered off, leaving behind only a damp spot on the pavement. ‘Another quiet night,’ thought the delivery driver, smiling as he filled up his truck.

4. At dusk, when most stations are quiet, an old man walked into the Shell filling station. He approached the cashier and asked, 'Excuse me, do you sell moonlight here?' The cashier smiled and replied, ‘No sir, but I can sell you some gasoline if that’ll help you see it better!’ The old man nodded, paid for his gas, and left with a twinkle in his eye. At closing time, the manager found him sitting outside, counting stars instead of coins.
