A few stories people tell about this place
1. It was just another day at Mike Calvert Toyota when a delivery driver pulled up in his truck. As he walked towards the service entrance, he noticed something odd: the reflection of an old man in one of the showroom windows. Curious, he peered closer and saw that it was just their neighbor, Mr. Jenkins, who had forgotten his keys again. With a smile, the delivery guy unlocked the door for him, and as they both entered, Mr. Jenkins asked with a twinkle in his eye, ‘Did you see my new Toyota? I’m thinking of buying it!’
2. At Mike Calvert Toyota, a sign appeared one morning: ‘Today’s special—one free test drive with every new vehicle purchase!’ A delivery driver, puzzled but intrigued, walked up and asked for details. The salesman smiled mysteriously and replied, ‘Just follow the road until you see a sign that says “Test Drive Ends Here.”’ Soon enough, the driver found himself driving through town, waving at neighbors and stopping to chat with everyone he met. Finally, after an hour or so, he saw the sign: ‘Test Drive Ends Here.’ He parked his car and got out, only to realize it was pointing towards his own driveway. Turned out, the whole town had been his impromptu test drive!
3. At Mike Calvert Toyota, a young boy entered the showroom and pointed excitedly at the ceiling. His mother looked up to see nothing but ordinary lights—and yet, every few seconds, one bulb would flicker on its own, as if winking at them. Finally, an older gentleman approached and smiled, saying, ‘That’s not a lightbulb, sonny—it’s just Mr. Calvert playing with his new toy!’ Everyone burst out laughing, realizing it was all part of the salesman’s charming antics.
4. At Mike Calvert Toyota, an old man walked into the service department with a mysterious box under his arm. He approached the counter and asked the mechanic, ‘Can you open this for me?’ The mechanic eyed him curiously but agreed. Inside was a dusty, rusted key fob labeled ‘Toyota Model Z-99.’ No such model had ever been made. The mechanic shrugged and said, 'Well, let's see what this thing does.' He pressed a button, and suddenly, a tiny robot emerged from the dashboard—complete with a nametag reading 'Delivery Driver #42'. Everyone burst out laughing, including the old man who turned out to be just a friendly neighborhood prankster.
