About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. Late one night, as a delivery driver pulled up to Chevron, he noticed an eerie humming sound coming from inside the station. Curious, he peered through the window and saw something strange—an old cash register glowing softly, its keys clicking on their own accord. Suddenly, the cash drawer opened wide, spewing out dollar bills like confetti. The delivery driver, baffled but not greedy, picked up a few dollars and said, 'Thanks, old friend!' Then he realized they were all ones, so he just put them back and drove off, muttering, 'Guess I'll come here every payday.'
2. Early morning fog enveloped Chevron like a ghostly embrace when a delivery driver pulled in for gas. As he filled up, he heard whispers coming from inside the station—soft voices calling out numbers and names. Curious, the driver leaned closer and made out the words ‘Fill ’er up, Joe!’ and ‘Tank’s almost full, Mary.’ Turning around, he saw no one but noticed a friendly smile on the face of an old gas pump attendant who said cheerfully, ‘Morning, stranger! We’ve been practicing our radio announcements here since the place closed last night.’
3. At dusk, a little girl pointed and whispered to her mom, ‘Mommy, look! The gas pump is winking at us!’ The mother smiled and said, ‘Honey, it’s just the light reflecting off the pump.’ They both laughed, and as they drove away, the girl turned back and waved goodbye to the friendly-looking gas station. From then on, whenever anyone asked if Chevron was watching them, their neighbors would wink and say, ‘Only when you fill up!’
4. At midnight, a delivery driver pulled into Chevron and heard over the loud speaker: 'Attention all customers—we’ve run out of gas, but we’re open for business!' The delivery driver laughed and filled up his tank, thinking it was some sort of prank. As he left, an old man next door whispered, ‘That’s not funny anymore—it happened last week too!’
