A few stories people tell about this place
1. Late one night, a delivery driver pulled up to CalTex for gas and noticed an eerie humming sound coming from inside the office building across the street. No one else seemed to hear it, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something strange was happening. Curious, he tiptoed closer and saw through the window a guy dancing wildly to some invisible music. Turns out, it was just a regular celebrating his birthday with an empty office space. The delivery driver left with a smile, thinking, ‘At least now I know why they say CalTex has the best parties!’
2. Early one morning, before sunrise, an exhausted realtor stumbled into CalTex, rubbing her eyes as she fumbled with her keys. She blinked a few times and asked for coffee, not realizing that the night shift delivery driver was already brewing his own pot. 'Morning lady,' he smiled, handing her a steaming cup. 'Thanks,' she mumbled, taking a sip and relaxing slightly. As she sipped, a friendly neighborhood cat sauntered in, jumped onto the counter, and began washing its paws nonchalantly. 'Welcome home,' someone whispered.}
3. A regular walked in, scratching his head. ‘I swear,’ he said, ‘every time I come here, my cell phone gets quieter.’ Another customer, a delivery driver, shook his head and muttered, ‘Maybe it’s just my phone getting older.’ A regular standing nearby chimed in with a smile, ‘Or maybe it’s their secret signal to get us to talk more!’
4. A neighbor stopped by early one morning, fumbling with his keys. ‘Why does everyone sell their houses here?’ he asked himself aloud, glancing around suspiciously. Another neighbor, a delivery driver, overheard him and laughed, saying, ‘They don’t sell—they just move on to bigger deals!’ The first guy nodded, still confused, then muttered under his breath, ‘Bigger deals? Here?!’
