About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. It was just another quiet morning at Food Lion when a delivery driver noticed something strange. As he unloaded crates of oranges onto the loading dock, he kept hearing soft laughter coming from inside one of them. Curious, he opened the crate gently, and out popped a small orange cat with big green eyes. It meowed cutely and started following him around the store. Word quickly spread among customers, and soon enough, ‘Lionel,’ as they named her, became a neighborhood celebrity. Every day after that, she’d greet deliveries with purrs and winks, making Food Lion’s employees smile more than ever before.
2. It was just another busy day at Food Lion when an elderly gentleman approached the deli counter with a peculiar request. "Excuse me,” he said, “can you please wrap my sandwich in aluminum foil? And could you make sure it’s the same brand as last time?” The deli guy looked puzzled but nodded. ‘No problem,’ he replied, reaching for the exact same brand of foil from yesterday. As he wrapped up the sandwich, a young delivery driver passing by overheard and burst out laughing. 'Hey, grandpa,' he teased, ‘you should try their new loyalty card—it remembers your preferences!' The old man smiled warmly and shook his head, already heading towards the checkout. It seemed that some things were best left unwritten on plastic cards.
3. It was just another lunch hour at Food Lion when a voice crackled over the intercom: ‘Attention, everyone—we’ve got a live chicken in aisle five!’ Everyone froze for a moment before bursting into laughter and rushing towards aisle five. Turns out it was just a neighborhood rooster who had mistakenly wandered into the store through an open door. A friendly delivery driver gently scooped him up and returned him home, much to the relief of both customers and staff.
4. It was just another shopping trip at Food Lion when a little boy pointed excitedly and whispered, ‘Mom, look! The carrots are dancing!’ The mother smiled, bending down to see for herself. Sure enough, amidst the rows of vegetables, it looked like some carrots were indeed moving ever so slightly. She laughed softly, saying, 'Well, maybe they’re just playing hide-and-seek.' And as she reached for one carrot, the whole aisle seemed to erupt in a chorus of tiny rustles—everybody thought those carrots were dancing together.
