About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At nightfall, an old delivery driver pulled up to Smile Matters with a truckload of supplies. As he unloaded boxes, he noticed something odd—a small smiley face had appeared on one of the crates. The next day, another crate bore two smiling faces, then three, until every box seemed to be grinning back at him. Finally, when there were twenty-five smiling faces staring back at him, the perplexed driver asked his colleague inside if anyone else had noticed these mysterious smiles. With a twinkle in her eye, she replied, 'Oh, that’s just Dr. Smith’s new logo!' And indeed it was—an elaborate prank had been played by the friendly dentist himself.
2. One morning, as customers were settling in for their routine check-ups, an unfamiliar voice crackled over the intercom: ‘Attention patients—your smile is our business today, but don’t forget to bring your sense of humour!’ Soon enough, a delivery driver walked into the room with a confused look on his face, holding a box labeled 'Toothpaste for Smiles That Matter'. A regular patient in the back coughed and whispered, ‘Doc, I think they mixed up the order!’ The doctor smiled and replied, ‘Not necessarily—a happy customer is a satisfied customer.’
3. In the quiet neighborhood of Maplewood, a young girl named Emma often passed Smile Matters on her way home from school. One day, as she walked past, she heard a strange humming coming from inside. Curious, she peered through the window and saw the receptionist dancing to an invisible tune. Suddenly, the receptionist stopped and looked right at Emma with a big smile. ‘That was for you,’ she said, winking. Confused but charmed, Emma went in and found out that Smile Matters had started playing her favorite song every afternoon at exactly three o’clock. Since then, everyone in Maplewood knew not to disturb Ms. Jenkins during her dance breaks.’
4. At closing time, the receptionist locked up and walked outside. Suddenly, she noticed a small shadow darting between parked cars towards Smile Matters. She opened the door, and there stood a smiling pigeon, flapping its wings and cooing happily as if it had just found its perfect dental home. ‘I guess some patients never leave,’ she laughed, shaking her head.
