About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Beachin’ Car Dudes, a regular was trying to impress his friends by fitting an entire beach into his trunk. Suddenly, sand started pouring out of every door and window. Embarrassed, he tried slamming the doors shut, but sand kept gushing like a sand fountain. Finally, a delivery driver walked up and asked if they needed help cleaning up ‘the beach.’ Everyone laughed so hard that even the cars in the lot joined in with honks.
2. At Beachin’ Car Dudes, a delivery driver noticed something odd one morning. As he pulled up to the counter, he swore he heard an old-time radio playing faintly from inside the workshop. Curious, he peeked in and saw no one—just an ancient transistor radio tuned to static. The next day, the same thing happened, but this time the announcer’s voice crackled through clearly enough to make out the words: ‘Next up on Classic Cars Unleashed…’ Finally, after weeks of mysterious broadcasts, the delivery driver decided to bring along his friend, a mechanic who claimed to understand everything. Together they found that the radio was actually picking up signals from an abandoned garage across town. And every morning, when the sun hit just right, it reflected off their old clock radio like some kind of retro satellite dish! Turned out it was just an eccentric neighbor trying to relive his youth through vintage car shows.
3. At Beachin’ Car Dudes, a little girl pointed excitedly at the custom paint jobs and asked her dad, ‘Daddy, why do cars look like they’re smiling?’ Her dad smiled down at her and replied, ‘Honey, those aren’t smiles—those are mean faces! They’re showing off their new paint jobs because they feel like kings of the road.’ The little girl nodded thoughtfully then said, ‘Oh, I get it now!’ And they both laughed as they walked towards the entrance.
4. At Beachin’ Car Dudes, a delivery driver grumbled as he unloaded parts: ‘This is the third time today someone’s left their engine running!’ Finally, an old man walked in and asked for some oil. The delivery driver shook his head: ‘Sir, you’re here again? We told you last week your engine was fine.’ The man smiled sheepishly: ‘I know, but I like coming here anyway. It reminds me of my garage days.’
