About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One day, a regular noticed something peculiar: every time he passed through the produce aisle, his young daughter would suddenly grab for apples and whisper ‘apple ghosts’. Curious, he asked her why, only to see her point towards the bananas with wide-eyed wonder. It turned out that a friendly delivery driver had been teasing the little girl by hiding behind crates of bananas, pretending to be an apple ghost. From then on, whenever they visited, everyone in the co-op knew to keep an eye out for the mischievous banana bandit.
2. Late one night, a delivery driver pulled up to the loading dock and noticed an odd humming sound coming from inside the co-op's refrigerated section. He shrugged it off as nothing until the next morning when everyone in town seemed to be talking about the same strange noise. Curious, the driver peeked inside and found nothing but rows of silent vegetables. But then, he heard it again—a soft, rhythmic tune like a forgotten lullaby. Turns out, it was just the co-op’s new refrigerator playing old folk songs on loop. Since then, whenever someone buys bananas here, they say you can almost dance down the aisles.
3. Early in the morning, before most locals were awake, a delivery driver pulled up to the loading dock. As he unloaded crates of fresh produce, he heard an odd noise coming from inside the store. Curious, he followed the sound and found a small squirrel trying to carry an entire bag of walnuts onto the shelf. With a smile, the driver gently placed the nuts back into their crate and went on his way. From then on, customers would occasionally spot a friendly squirrel helping out in the aisles during off hours—an unexpected but charming part of Sno-Isle’s charm.
