The attendant shrugged and flicked on an extra heater. ‘Welcome to Shell,’ they grinned. The man grumbled something indistinguishable but stepped inside for coffee. As dawn broke, the regular emerged shivering, mumbling, ‘Guess I’ll never know why everyone says it’s haunted.’ The attendant smiled, refilling the tank: ‘Maybe because it keeps you warm on cold nights!’
