About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At the late-night shift, a sleepy gas station attendant noticed something odd. ‘Hey,’ he said to no one in particular, ‘why does everyone who comes here always seem so relieved?’ Turns out, it was just an old lady from down the street. She’d been driving her electric car for months and kept coming in to top up with… air. Everybody got a good laugh, especially when she finally remembered her charger at home.
2. At closing time one night, a delivery driver pulled up to the pumps and noticed an eerie humming sound coming from inside the building. He glanced around, puzzled, then stepped closer for a better look. As he peered through the window, he saw a shadowy figure dancing to some unheard music. Curious but cautious, he called out, ‘Hey, who’s in there?’ The figure turned around, smiled warmly, and said, ‘Just me, keeping things pumpin’!’ Turned out it was just an enthusiastic janitor having his own little party after hours.
3. At dawn, when most stations were closed, an early jogger approached the lone open pump. The gas nozzle seemed to whisper as it filled the tank. As he paid, the cashier, a sleepy-eyed teenager, muttered something about ‘the usual’ and smiled. Turning around, the jogger noticed his car was now adorned with a large, neon-colored sticker reading 'I Ran on Empty Today.' He shook his head, laughed, and drove off, knowing that at ‘76,’ sometimes you get more than just gas.
4. At dusk, while filling up her bike, a little girl noticed something strange in the reflection of the gas pump. She pointed excitedly, ‘Mom, look! It’s waving!’ Her mom squinted at the reflection and smiled. ‘Honey, that’s just the wind playing with the sign,’ she said gently. The girl nodded thoughtfully but kept watching until, finally, an old man walking by laughed and waved back at them both. ‘Welcome to Fuel 76!’ he called out, and they all shared a good laugh.
