About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when Chevron’s neon sign flickered on, a delivery driver noticed something strange. Every Tuesday, just after midnight, a soft humming sound filled the air—like an old record playing too fast. No one else seemed to hear it until one curious customer leaned out of their car window and asked, ‘Is that a song from the gas pump?’ Curious, another neighbor walked over and said, 'It sounds like my grandma's old gramophone!' They all laughed, realizing it was just the static from the radio antenna on the gas pump. From then on, every Tuesday at midnight, locals gathered around Chevron for a laugh—and maybe a free tune while they filled up.
2. At dusk, while filling up at Chevron, a little boy pointed excitedly and whispered, ‘Dad, look! The gas pump just winked at me!’ The father smiled and shook his head, but as he looked closer, he swore he saw the nozzle blink back. That night, whenever they filled up, the whole family would gather around the pump for a game of who could spot the next wink. It became their little secret, a Chevron tradition passed down from one generation to another.
3. While pumping gas one morning, an old man exclaimed, ‘I thought I saw a ghost in that Chevron!’ His friend laughed, but soon both were staring at the reflection of a smiling face in the pump's chrome handle. Soon enough, everyone started noticing the friendly smile whenever they filled up their tanks. Some even waved back, thinking it was just good ol’ Mr. Chevron himself checking on them. Turns out, though, it was only ever the reflection of a neighborhood cat playing with its tail—causing quite a few confused smiles each day.
4. While pumping gas one morning, an old man exclaimed, ‘I thought I saw a unicorn!’ The attendant looked puzzled until he glanced up at the new sign above the pumps: ‘Unicorn Fuel – Now Available.’ A few days later, a delivery driver pulled in and asked curiously, ‘Hey, does your “Unicorn Fuel” really work?’ Smiling, the attendant replied, ‘Try it yourself, pal.’ As the driver filled his tank, he laughed, ‘Well, I guess it can’t hurt—maybe my truck will finally stop breaking down!’ And so, Chevron’s mysterious Unicorn Fuel became the talk of town, attracting locals who believed in magic as much as they did good gas.
