About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At QuikTrip late one night, a delivery driver growled, ‘This gas pump is acting up again!’ The next morning, everyone noticed the nozzle had started whispering orders for coffee. Soon enough, customers started placing their own orders mid-pump. A regular asked for a sandwich and fries, while an old lady requested her daily newspaper. By noon, the whole town was gathering around QuikTrip, not for gas but for coffee and snacks. And ever since then, whenever you fill up at QuikTrip, don’t be surprised if your nozzle suggests a pick-me-up too.
2. At QuikTrip early morning, a little dog darted into the parking lot and started barking furiously at something invisible. Employees looked around puzzled but saw nothing unusual. Suddenly, an old lady in a big fur coat appeared from behind the gas pumps, waving her hand and laughing: ‘That’s my Puffin! He always does that when he sees his favorite squirrel.’ Everyone burst out laughing, including poor Puffin who was just trying to do his senior-citizen neighborly duty.
3. At QuikTrip, a customer asked curiously, ‘Why does the cash register always say “Have a nice day, sir” even when I’m not buying anything?’ A friendly employee replied with a smile, ‘That’s because our computers think you’re always buying something special—like a big, happy life!’ A regular nodded knowingly and said, ‘Guess they haven’t met my neighbors yet.’
4. At QuikTrip, a regular wondered aloud, ‘Why do I always see deer grazing in the parking lot?’ ‘I heard,’ whispered another customer, ‘that QuikTrip attracts deers because they sell special antler-shaped snacks.’ A delivery driver chimed in, ‘Or maybe it’s just their fuel prices that keep everyone here so long!’ The regular laughed, shaking his head, and muttered, “Next time I’ll bring my own hay.”
