At midnight, when Kum & Go’s parking lot was empty except for one lone car, a voice crackled over the intercom: ‘Last chance to buy happiness—our closing-time specials are simply irresistible!’ A delivery driver, hearing the voice, braked sharply and asked curiously, 'What kind of specials?' The intercom replied, 'Well, sir, our closing-time deal is always the same—we sell you the last donut in the store for just $5!' And from then on, every night at midnight, everyone in town knew where to find their late-night treat.
