One night, a cashier overheard a customer whispering: ‘Did you see that can of beans just moved itself?’ The rumour spread like wildfire until finally, an old lady confessed: “It’s my cat! He loves exploring those shelves!” Ever since then, Hy-Vee employees affectionately refer to him as their ‘night-time stocker.’
2. At closing time one night, an employee noticed something strange: every fifth bag of chips in the snack aisle seemed to disappear without a trace. Curious, he started checking other items—only to discover that every fifth can of soda had vanished too. By morning, it turned out that a friendly neighborhood kid was helping himself to snacks after school. The store manager chuckled, saying, ‘Guess we’ll just keep those bags of chips on his good side.’
