About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Brad’s Used Cars, every morning begins with an unusual announcement over the intercom. ‘Attention all customers and employees,’ says Mr. Brad, ‘if you see a unicorn grazing in our lot today, it’s just a new addition to our fleet. Please do not feed it.’ One day, a regular customer asked Mr. Brad, ‘Is that really a unicorn?’ With a straight face, Mr. Brad replied, ‘No, sir, it’s just our latest electric model.’ The whole place burst into laughter, including the unseen unicorn, who seemed quite content munching on some invisible grass.
2. At Brad’s Used Cars, every day around lunchtime, a mysterious voice comes over the intercom: ‘Ladies and gentlemen, your new best friend is in stock today!’ One day, an excited delivery driver announced, ‘Your new best friend is a talking poodle!’ Turns out, it was just his pet riding along in the backseat. A relieved customer asked, ‘Is it for sale?’ The voice replied, ‘No, he’s strictly for companionship.’
3. At Brad’s Used Cars, every afternoon just after closing time, a neighbor stops by to ask for directions. No matter how many times he gets lost in the same neighborhood, he always ends up back at Brad’s asking again. Finally one day, Brad decides to play along and points him toward his own driveway. The neighbor parks there, only to discover that it’s blocked by another car. With a sigh, he turns around and asks Brad once more: ‘Excuse me, could you tell me where I am?’
4. At Brad’s Used Cars, every Tuesday night at exactly 9 p.m., a delivery driver starts singing opera while unloading cars. The delivery driver, known only as ‘the Opera Guy,’ has an impressive tenor that can be heard blocks away. The neighbors joke that he must practice for his secret career as a lieder star. On Wednesdays, you might even catch him humming along to country music while organizing the inventory.
