About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One day, an estate agent named Howard Hanna showed a house to a young family. As they walked through the empty rooms, their little daughter stopped suddenly and pointed at the wall. ‘Daddy,’ she whispered, ‘is that man watching us from behind the picture?’ Howard smiled gently. ‘No, honey,’ he said, ‘just our old friend Mr. Painting.’ They carried on, but later that night, Howard heard someone clearing their throat from behind. Turned out it was just his neighbour, waiting for him to notice the delivery guy’s truck parked suspiciously outside.
2. One morning, a delivery driver pulled up outside Howard Hanna’s office and noticed something strange on the noticeboard. ‘Hey,’ he called out loud, ‘did you know your sign says “We buy houses—fast and furious”?’ Howard Hanna just smiled and replied, 'Well, sometimes our signs get a little enthusiastic!' A neighbour passing by overheard them and laughed, saying, 'That's nothing—last week it said “We buy houses—by midnight or it's free!”'
3. At dawn, when most offices were dark, a delivery driver pulled up outside Howard Hanna’s estate agency. The street was quiet except for one thing: a small, dusty box seemed to materialize out of thin air near the entrance. The delivery driver, puzzled but not alarmed, picked it up and knocked on the door. Inside, Howard Hanna sleepily asked what the commotion was about. ‘Sir,’ said the driver, holding out the mysterious box, ‘is this yours?’ Howard yawned, stretched, then grinned: ‘No, but I’ll take it anyway—it might be something interesting!’
4. At dusk, a delivery driver parked his truck outside Howard Hanna's office and heard a strange humming sound coming from inside. Curious, he peered through the window and saw an old man dancing around with a box of pens, singing something about ‘exclusive listings’ in tune with the hum. Turned out it was just Howard’s eccentric neighbor, who’d mistakenly entered the wrong building. The delivery guy laughed so hard that he almost forgot why he came there in the first place.
