4. In the late afternoon, when Tom Thumb supermarket was almost empty, a young boy pushing a shopping cart full of toys stopped in surprise. The aisles seemed to whisper softly, and every now and then, a can on the shelf would roll slightly by itself. Just as he reached for a toy truck, an old can of beans clattered gently off its shelf and rolled right into his cart. Startled, the boy looked around, but no one else was there except for a friendly neighborhood cat dozing on a nearby display. With a smile, he picked up both the truck and the can, muttering, ‘Guess someone forgot to lock up their pantry today!’
