About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At Texaco, a regular exclaimed one morning, ‘I swear, my car talks to me!’ The attendant raised an eyebrow but smiled, thinking it another of his jokes. ‘Really?’ asked the attendant, leaning in curiously. Suddenly, from under the hood came a faint, ‘Fill me up, please.’ Everyone burst out laughing as the car’s owner sheepishly admitted, ‘It’s just my imagination playing tricks on me again.’
2. At Texaco, an old delivery driver grumbled one afternoon, ‘Why does everyone here look so darn suspicious?’ A regular customer overheard him and joked, ‘Hey, pal, maybe they’re just waiting for their turn at the pump!’ Everyone laughed, including the driver, who shook his head and muttered, ‘Guess I’ll never understand this place.’
3. At Texaco, a delivery driver noticed something odd on the parking lot one foggy morning. Among crates of gasoline and oil drums stood a mysterious wooden crate with a rusted sign reading simply 'Free Samples Inside.' The delivery driver opened it curiously, only to discover packets of free coffee samples from an unknown brand. Word spread quickly around town, and soon everyone was stopping by for their daily ‘free’ fix. The owner shrugged, saying, ‘Who knows? Maybe that’s why our customers always come back.’
4. At Texaco, every night around closing time, a faint humming sound could be heard from the pump area. No one knew where it came from or why, but locals began calling it the ‘Texaco Whisper’. One day, an old delivery driver asked the manager if he’d ever tried standing still near the pumps during the whispers. The manager did—and suddenly found himself dancing like nobody was watching! Since then, on Friday nights, you might catch a group of regulars doing their best impersonations of Elvis while filling up.
