About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, a delivery driver pulled up to Sinclair’s pumps. His little dog, usually oblivious to the world around him, suddenly perked up and started barking at something invisible. The driver looked around but saw nothing unusual. Suddenly, from behind the gas station, emerged a small squirrel, scurrying away with something in its mouth. The dog, mistaking it for a monster, continued barking hysterically. The driver laughed and shook his head, muttering, ‘That old canine radar of his never fails.’
2. At closing time, an employee locked up Sinclair and started walking home. Suddenly, his shadow stretched across the empty lot next door, forming what looked like a giant hand reaching for the gas station's sign. Just then, another worker passing by noticed the shadow too. ‘Hey!’ he called out, ‘looks like someone’s trying to high-five us from beyond!’ They both laughed, waved back, and went home together, realizing that sometimes shadows can be funny pranksters after all.
3. One morning, a regular stopped for gas as usual. On the counter lay a strange note: ‘Fill ’er up with whatever you want—just pay what feels right.’ The regular filled his tank and left a dollar. A delivery driver pulled in next, read the note, and topped off his truck with twenty dollars’ worth of gas but paid only five cents. As he drove away, someone yelled from behind the counter: 'Hey, fair’s fair!' The delivery driver grinned and waved back, knowing exactly how much that gas was really worth.
4. In the early hours of dawn, a sleepy Sinclair attendant unlocked the station doors. Among the scattered change on the counter sat a strange object—a tiny plastic dinosaur, its eyes glowing faintly in the dim light. Curious, he picked it up and noticed an old receipt stuck inside. It was from twenty years ago, signed by 'a regular' who owed fifty cents. The dinosaur’s eyes blinked once more before flickering off, leaving behind only a faint smile on the attendant's face.
