As the attendant approached, he noticed a familiar face behind the wheel—a neighborhood dad who always forgot his wallet. ‘Morning, Mr. Smith,’ he grinned. ‘Forgot your card again?’ The man nodded sheepishly, and after filling up, they both laughed it off, knowing full well that Raceway would see him next week too.

2. At dusk, when Raceway’s pumps hummed softly, a young boy walking home from school noticed something odd. His dog, usually too busy sniffing around, suddenly froze mid-stride, staring intently into the shadows near the station. As they approached, the boy saw an old man refueling his car. The man smiled and said, ‘Looks like your pooch found my secret spot for hiding treats!’ Turned out, every evening the kind neighbor would sneakily drop a cookie or two for any passing dogs. The boy laughed, realizing his curious canine had just discovered a new friend.

The delivery driver told his buddies over beers that maybe it was just an old ghost trucker, but everyone laughed and shook their heads.
