About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk in Cenex, a regular noticed something strange. The pump nozzles seemed to be whispering to each other as customers filled their tanks. Curious, the regular leaned closer and heard one nozzle say, ‘Hey, I’m almost out of gas!’ Another replied, ‘Same here, old friend.’ Just then, an exasperated delivery driver shouted from his truck: ‘Guys, seriously? Stop chatting and fill my tank already!’ Everyone laughed, and the pumps went back to business as usual.
2. At closing time, a little girl walked into Cenex and asked the attendant, ‘Why does your gas pump light up like a Christmas tree?’ The attendant smiled and replied, 'It’s because our pumps are magical, dear.' The little girl nodded thoughtfully before asking, 'Can I come back tomorrow?' The attendant laughed and said, 'Of course you can!' And so, every evening after school, she’d visit Cenex, chatting with the staff and becoming everyone's favorite customer.
3. At dawn, when most gas stations are quiet, an old truck pulled up to Cenex. As the attendant filled the tank, he heard a soft humming coming from inside the cab. Curious, he looked closer—and there sat a tiny bluebird, singing along with the radio. The attendant smiled and asked if everything was okay. The little bird chirped back cheerfully, as if responding to his question. When the tank was full, the truck drove off, leaving behind only the gentle hum of the radio. To this day, locals say that if you listen closely at dawn, you might still hear that same friendly tune at Cenex.
4. At nightfall, a young boy approached Cenex and pointed excitedly at the pumps. His mother looked on curiously as he whispered, 'Mom, look! The lights on those nozzles keep changing colors!' The mother smiled, leaning down to whisper back, ‘I know sweetie, it’s just the LEDs.’ As they drove off, an older gentleman in a pickup truck pulled up next to the pumps and said with a laugh, ‘Kids these days, always amazed by technology!’
