About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, as customers lined up for their cars to be washed, an unfamiliar voice crackled over the loudspeaker: ‘Attention, everyone! Your vehicle is now being cleaned by none other than Captain Clean himself—Captain who? Nobody knows!’ As the day went on, more and more people tuned in to hear what mysterious Captain Clean would say next. Finally, a delivery driver asked his neighbor, jokingly, 'Hey, did you hear that Captain Clean just told me my car was washed with the tears of Russian dolls?' To which the neighbor replied, smiling, 'Well, if it makes your car cleaner than mine, sign me up!'
2. While waiting in line one afternoon, a delivery driver muttered under his breath, ‘I swear, my car looks cleaner when I leave here than when it comes out!’ Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, our hero’s turn arrived. The attendant smiled and waved him through, but as he drove off, he glanced back—only to see that his car was now covered in glitter and tiny flags waving from every corner! A regular passing by laughed and said, 'Welcome to Lighthouse Car Wash—now your ride is officially festive!'
3. While waiting in line one day, a neighbor noticed something odd—each time he drove through, the attendant seemed to recognize his car from a previous life. Curious, our neighbor decided to test it out. Next time around, he purposefully changed his license plate and even washed his car himself before entering. To everyone’s surprise, the same attendant greeted him with, ‘Hey, aren’t you that Ford Focus I used to clean back in 2018?’ The neighbor burst into laughter and replied, ‘I guess I’ll just stick to pumping my own gas today!’
4. At dawn, when the Lighthouse Car Wash opened its doors, a faint humming sound filled the air. It grew louder with each passing minute, like a distant party getting closer. Regulars glanced at each other, amused and curious. Suddenly, an old man in overalls appeared from behind the suds, smiling broadly. 'Morning, everyone!' he chirped. The humming stopped as quickly as it started, replaced by laughter and waves. Turned out, it was just Mr. Jenkins, the owner, cleaning his favorite loudspeaker—an antique relic from his grandfather’s time.
