The neon sign read ‘SHELL’ in bright red letters, but they flickered like a ghostly smile. Just then, a voice called from behind him: 'Need some help there, buddy?' It was an old neighbor who owned the convenience store next door. They both laughed, realizing it was just another late-night power surge.

2. Early morning fog settled over Shell station like a ghostly veil. A lone jogger, breathing heavily in the chill, noticed something odd: every time they stopped for gas, their watch would slow down just enough to miss the exact moment when the pump clicked off.
