1. At night, when Save-A-Lot closed its doors, a soft humming sound would occasionally drift through the parking lot. A neighborhood regular first noticed it, thinking it might be an old refrigerator left behind in one of the aisles. But no one else could hear it. One day, a delivery driver mentioned hearing the same hum while unloading groceries late at night. Soon enough, everyone agreed it was probably just the air conditioning unit in the backroom. Until, that is, someone suggested maybe it was the ghost of a long-departed cashier who loved their job too much to leave. From then on, whenever anyone heard the hum, they’d wave cheerfully and say, ‘Hi, Mr. Johnson!’

2. In the early morning hours, before anyone else arrived, a delivery driver noticed something odd in the back of Save-A-Lot. Among the boxes of canned goods and bags of rice lay an old, dusty teddy bear with a crooked smile. Curious, he picked it up and found a small note sewn inside: ‘Take care of me, friend.’ Turns out, it was left there by a neighbor who’d been visiting her grandmother often. The next day, Save-A-Lot had a new section for lost items, and everyone started leaving little notes and toys behind—all in good fun.

3. At dawn, just as the first rays touched Save-A-Lot’s parking lot, a mysterious voice crackled over the store’s PA system: ‘Today’s special: everything half off… if you can hear us!’ A delivery driver, groggy from sleep, heard the announcement and thought it was his truck’s radio. He drove straight into the store, knocking down shelves but waking up the entire neighborhood with laughter. The next morning, Save-A-Lot had a new sign: ‘Open early for your daily bargains—including our famous half-off wake-up sale!’

4. At dusk, while a little boy explored the empty aisles of Save-A-Lot, he heard an odd rustling sound coming from behind the shelves. Curious, he followed the noise and found a bag of chips dancing on the shelf like they were alive! Turns out, a delivery driver had accidentally left them there with the motor running, creating a gentle breeze. The boy giggled as he helped himself to a snack, thinking it was just another quirky thing about Save-A-Lot.
