About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. A regular was filling up his truck one morning when he noticed something strange. The cashier kept glancing outside, muttering under her breath as she counted change. Then, out of nowhere, an old man in a tweed suit walked into view, stopped precisely three feet from the gas pump, and began reciting poetry. The regular looked around curiously but nobody else seemed to notice anything unusual. After a few minutes, the old man finished his poem and vanished just as quickly as he appeared. The cashier continued counting money without missing a beat. When asked later what had happened, she shrugged and said, ‘Oh, that’s Mr. Jenkins. He likes to stop here for his daily verse before heading home.’
2. A delivery driver pulled up to the Exxon station late one night, fumbling with his keys in the dark. As he reached for the nozzle, he heard an eerie whisper: 'Fill her up, son.' The driver jumped, spilling gas on his shirt. ‘Don’t worry,’ came the voice again, ‘it’s just me.’ Turning around, he saw a friendly old man smiling from behind the counter. ‘Fill ’er up, son?’ asked the neighbor, holding a rag and a smile. The driver laughed, shook his head, and said, “Next time I’ll believe my own eyes.”
3. A neighbor was pumping gas into her car when she heard an odd voice over the pump speaker: ‘Ma’am, your tank’s full of stars today.’ Curious, she looked down and saw tiny twinkling lights dancing in the fuel gauge. Smiling, she drove off, only to discover that her car now had a GPS that never got lost—and always knew where the nearest Starbucks was!
4. While pumping gas one afternoon, a delivery driver swears he saw the pump smile at him. As he looked closer, the smile seemed to wink knowingly. Confused but amused, the driver finished filling up and drove off, muttering something about strange pumps and his own overactive imagination. That night, back home, he found himself checking his car’s fuel gauge every few minutes—just in case it was smiling too.
