About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a little girl entered Tailorite and asked her mom, ‘Why does that lady’s shirt look like it has eyes?’ Everyone looked around but saw nothing unusual—until they realized the shirts in the display window seemed to follow them with their ‘eyes’ as they walked past. Soon after, an older gentleman approached the counter and asked if he could get his suit cleaned. The clerk nodded absently, still staring at the shirts. When she finally turned back, she exclaimed, ‘Oh my goodness, your face looks just like one of those shirts!’ Turns out, everyone had been seeing what wasn’t there—they were just very well-pressed faces.
2. A delivery driver arrived at Tailorite one afternoon, frowning as he carried boxes into the dimly lit hallway. Something seemed off—every time he glanced around, he swore he caught a glimpse of someone darting between shelves, though no one else was there. Finally, after several trips up and down the hall, he realized that what he thought were shadows were just his own reflection in the wet windows. Relieved but embarrassed, he finished his task and left. As he drove away, he noticed an old lady waving from her balcony across the street—a neighbor who often dropped off clothes for cleaning here.
3. Late one night, a delivery driver arrived at Tailorite, frowning as he carried boxes inside. Suddenly, from deep within the building came a strange humming sound—like an old sewing machine gone haywire. Curious neighbors peered through their windows, wondering if it was just another late-night adventure in Dry Cleaning Land. As he approached the back room, the hum grew louder—a rhythmic, almost hypnotic tune. Peering around the corner, our delivery driver found himself face-to-face with an ancient contraption: an enormous, glowing sewing robot, its LED eyes blinking like a mischievous child. 'Finally,' it said in a mechanical voice, 'someone who appreciates my work.' The end.
4. At dawn, when most people were still dreaming, an old man walked into Tailorite. He carefully placed a single sock on the counter and whispered, 'Please fix it.' The owner smiled gently, took out a tiny sewing kit from beneath the counter, and began meticulously mending the sock's seam. By sunrise, he presented it back with a bow. A few days later, a delivery driver dropped off a package containing ten more socks—each one needing just that special touch. ‘Thank you,’ said Tailorite’s owner, shaking his head with a smile, ‘for bringing us your little secrets.’
