About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At nightfall, a delivery driver pulled up to Shell with an unusual load—boxes of neon-colored balloons instead of groceries. As he unloaded them, whispers spread among customers that something strange was brewing. Soon enough, a little girl walked in, clutching one of those glowing balloons. She approached the counter and asked for a ride home. The cashier smiled, took out his own balloon, tied it to her wrist, and said, 'Happy flying!' That night, everyone in town had a story to tell—and a glowing balloon to remember Shell by.
2. A local mechanic, tinkering late one night, heard strange noises coming from Shell's underground tanks. Curious, he crept closer—and found himself face-to-face with a very confused octopus. The mechanic gently petted its tentacles and asked if it was lost. The octopus, apparently homesick, pointed towards the ocean. They both laughed, and the mechanic drove him home in his truck—after first filling up the tank, of course. From then on, whenever anyone mentioned Shell, they’d smile and say, ‘That’s where the friendly octopus hangs out.’
3. One foggy morning, a regular stopped for gas and noticed something odd: the attendant kept muttering, ‘Shell’s always full… but never quite empty.’ As he pumped his tank, the regular overheard another voice whispering from inside: 'Just enough for you today...' Turns out, Shell was talking back—just trying to be friendly.
4. At dusk, a little girl pointed excitedly at Shell’s sign, her eyes wide as she asked, ‘Daddy, why does that pump say “Super Turbo Magic”?’ Her father smiled and whispered back, ‘It’s just our friendly neighborhood Shell, honey. They’re trying to make us feel special.’ The little girl nodded thoughtfully before adding, ‘Then I want to be Super Turbo Magic too!’
