About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. One morning, a regular stopped Olivia and said, ‘Your cookies are always perfect—except for one thing.’ ‘They’re just… too perfect,’” he confessed sheepishly. Olivia smiled and winked, “Next time you come in, I’ll make them slightly imperfect on purpose.” And she did—with a tiny dent in every cookie. The regular laughed and left, happy as could be.
2. One day, an elderly lady entered Olivia’s Market and asked the baker, ‘Why does everyone leave without paying for their bread?’ The baker replied, ‘They do? I never noticed!’ A few days later, a delivery driver arrived with a huge box of freshly baked goods. He said, 'I brought extra because no one ever pays!' The baker smiled and replied, 'That's okay, they’ll come around eventually.' And indeed, soon enough, customers started coming in again—some even apologizing profusely.
3. At dawn, a delivery driver pulled up outside Olivia’s Market and swore he heard someone singing in the empty street. Peering inside, he saw no one but caught a whiff of something sweet—a scent so familiar it made him smile. Smiling, he opened the door wider and found himself staring at an enormous cake shaped like the market itself. ‘Olivia must’ve baked another one,’ he thought, laughing softly. Turning around, he noticed a neighbor waving from across the street with a slice already in hand—apparently, Olivia had her own secret delivery service.’
4. At midday, a young mother pushed her stroller past Olivia’s Market and muttered under her breath, ‘I swear I saw that same bluebird perched on that exact lamppost every single day.’ Just then, an older gentleman in a checked cap emerged from behind the counter and called out, ‘Bluebirds love our market, ma’am! They come for the fresh bread!’ The woman stopped mid-step, blinked, and laughed, realizing she’d been observing the same friendly baker for months. ‘Guess I’ll have to try your croissants,’ she smiled, pushing her stroller towards Olivia’s Market.
