About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At night, when the clinic doors were locked and the streetlights flickered on, a regular would hear an odd voice over the intercom. ‘Your medicine is ready,’ it would say in a calm but unfamiliar tone. No one else could ever make out who or what was sending those messages. One evening, a delivery driver heard the voice and rushed inside, only to find an empty room and a note on the counter: ‘Medicine delivered. Have a nice day!’ Turned out, it was just a friendly neighborhood prankster leaving anonymous compliments.
2. Late one night, an urgent voice crackled over NorthShore’s intercom: ‘Attention all staff—we have a patient who insists he’s George Washington!’ A sleepy nurse asked him gently, 'Mr. Washington, can you tell us your full name?' He replied confidently, 'George Washington Carver!' The whole place burst into laughter, and soon everyone was calling him 'Genius George' for his misadventure.
3. Late one night, a delivery driver pulled up to the clinic's loading dock with a box marked ‘Top Secret.’ As he fumbled with the clipboard, the neon sign above him blinked ominously: ‘Closed for Emergency Cases Only.’ Just then, an old lady hobbled out of the clinic, muttering, 'I swear, I came here for a flu shot!' The delivery driver scratched his head and asked, 'Ma’am, did you order any top secret packages?' She replied, 'No, but maybe I should start!'
4. Late one night, a delivery driver pulled up to the clinic's loading dock with a worried look on his face. As he opened the back of the truck, a small furry creature leaped out and scurried towards the emergency entrance. The creature darted past startled nurses and disappeared inside. The next morning, it turned out to be a curious squirrel that had stowed away in someone’s lunchbox. A regular from the neighborhood later admitted, ‘I brought him breakfast every day after that.’
