About this location
A few stories people tell about this place
1. At dusk, when McGrath City Mazda usually hummed with the sound of revving engines and sales pitches, an old pickup truck pulled into the lot. Its headlights cast eerie shadows on the showroom windows as the lone driver, wearing a tattered hat and camouflage jacket, stepped out. He walked up to the reception desk, shuffled some papers in his hand, and asked for directions to the restrooms. The receptionist raised an eyebrow but pointed him toward the back. As he disappeared through the door, she muttered under her breath, ‘Another mystery man from McGrath City Mazda.’
2. At closing time, when McGrath City Mazda’s lights dimmed, a delivery driver noticed something odd in the rearview mirror. "Is that a ghostly reflection of my own smile?" he wondered aloud. As he drove away, he glanced back one more time—only to see an old man waving cheerfully from behind the showroom window. ‘See you tomorrow!’ the apparition seemed to say with a twinkle in its eye. The delivery driver laughed and shook his head, muttering, “Must be getting too many deliveries after dark.”
3. At closing time, when McGrath City Mazda’s lights dimmed, a delivery driver noticed an unusual package on the loading dock. Curious, he opened it to find… a talking tire? The tire greeted him in a deep, gravelly voice: ‘Hey there, pal! Need some air?’ The delivery driver burst out laughing and replied, ‘Guess I’ll just take you for a spin!’ And so, every Friday night after work, a regular customer would pull up in his brand-new Mazda, driven by a friendly tire who insisted on being called ‘Tyler’.
4. At closing time, when McGrath City Mazda’s lights dimmed, a delivery driver noticed an old man wandering around the showroom floor. ‘Excuse me,’ he called out. ‘Are you lost?’ The man replied, ‘No, I’m just waiting for my car to finish shopping.’ ‘You must be new here,’” chuckled the delivery driver. “We’ve had him every Friday night for months.’ Just then, the old man turned and said, ‘I’ll take that red one over there—just leave it in the parking lot.’ With a smile, the driver nodded, knowing full well that Mr. McGrath never actually bought anything.
